Background and Objectives

"7 Innovation Awards" ” are considered to be the first masterpiece from national innovation collaboration project from 11 national leading organizations.

The national innovation collaboration project was a result of national collaboration from 6 Thai organizations in 2013: (National Science Technology and Innovation Office (STI), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), National Innovation Agency (NIA), The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and CP All Public Company Limited (CP All).
5 more key players joined the team in the following year: The Thai Chamber of Commerce & Board of Trade of Thailand (TCC&BOT), The Thai Banker’s Association (TBA), Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) and Thai Business Incubators and Science Parks Association (Thai-BISPA).
All members joined this national collaboration and mutually agreed upon the importance of having existing researches tested with real market and real customers with the purpose of gaining a better learning and future development of innovation.
In order to strongly promote and thoroughly manage this event, concrete actions need to be taken. That leads to “7 Innovation Awards” contest. Winners of this event will be given a trophy and prize money, with certificate included. Additionally, they will be provided with special privilege in selling their products through nationwide outlets of 7 Eleven Thailand, covering more than 13,000 stores.
Key Objectives

1. To help and support existing researchers/entrepreneurs to have their products/services actually tested with real customers.

2. To honor and recognize researchers/entrepreneurs and encourage them to come up with innovative products/services.

3. To strongly promote national collaboration between government and private sectors in facilitating actual selling/market testing existing products/services through more than 13,000 7 Eleven stores channel nationwide with more than 8 million customers per day.

7 Innovation Awards are the awards given to outstanding innovative products/services actually sold through customers via 7 Eleven stores. The awards can be classified as:

"7 Inventors Awards"

Are awards given to researchers/inventors who come up with innovative invention and tested with actual customers through various channels of CP All but does not successfully expand the market or leverage to national or global level. The awards is also divided into 2 categories.

"Creator Awards"

Are awards given to encourage researchers/inventors who come up with innovative invention and tested with actual customers through various channels of CP All. The awards is also divided into 2 categories.

Qualifications:

Juristic person (All types of Government/Private sector/SMEs)

In Person or Team (No limitation on age, sex, education and number of team member)

Judges

Comprises of members from specialists and experts from independent entities/11 organizations (STI/NSTDA/NIA/FTI/CP All/ TCC&BOT/TBA/OSMEP and Thai-BISPA).

Contest Conditions

1.  The decision of the judges are considered to be final.

2.  All related information regarding contest will be kept as trade secret confidential. Any technical or business information will only be discusses among relevant staff and judges, whom have signed non-closure agreement.

3.  During a contest, applicants are required to be willing to provide additional information relating to submitted products/services to CP All Innovation Center.

4.  Applicants are requested to allow CP All Public Company Limited to publish your work for knowledge sharing and learning. The company will only publish non-trade secret information.

5.  CP All Innovation Center reserves the right to stop or cancel the application in case of not meeting any requirement.

6. All entries must come from your own ideas/thoughts and no submission of others’ work are allowed without written approval. The committee reserves the right to withdraw and cancel the applications in case such incidents occur.

"Innovation" Definition

Innovation means doing something with new ways/ideas by using knowledge, creativity, skills and experience, including technology in order to creation of new products, services, process or business model innovation. No matter that innovation is only radical, incremental or breakthrough, it must have a proven result (doable and repeatable).

Other Privileges

1. Winner’s products/services gain rights to be broadcasted on TV/media and promoted via various activities upon 7 Innovation Awards’ Committee approval.

2. Winner’s products/services gain rights to be published in printed media/and 7 Innovation Awards summary book.

3. Winners gain rights to use 7 Innovation Awards logo on their products/services for 3 consecutive years, starting from the award day. Any related layouts and artworks need to be approved in black and white from CP All Innovation Center and related departments.

4. Winners are entitled to participate in consulting service such as product/brand development, production technology, funding etc. from 10 Thailand Synergy for SMEs partners.

5.  Winners are entitled to join further commercialization support upon CP All’s terms and conditions.

6. Winners are promoted and honored periodically.
